Softswitch S5000 SBC mode

The S5000 Softswitch with SBC mode is in front of the IPBX of the enterprise. It is like a controler device for SIP signals and medias and goes between the IPBX and the VoIP endpoints. Interoperable with all kind of IPBX of the market for an easiest deployment. It requires any other configuration for the IPBX or for the phones.  Indeed, the SBC mode establishes a bi-directional relation between the terminal and the server, without any complex configuration while new endpoints are registered.

Security

The SBC mode enables to optimize the security of the telephonic network for the company: against attacks, malware calls, etc.

Higher confidentiality

The optimisation of the confidentiality is handled by the SBC that ensures the encryption of the signalling and/or the media, respectively in TLS and SRTP. Besides, the media flow can be maintained in the SBC only.

Alleviation of the IPBX 

As the S5000 SBC maintains the media flox, the IPBX is only in charge of the signalling.

Transcoding 

The S5000 SBC manages the transcoding of the media (G722/G711) and the protocol (H323/SIP).

Network topology hidden 

A SIP trunk between the S5000/SBC and an IP network makes the network topology unvisible from the outside.
